Rejection and Opportunity

Rejection is part of life. Every role or opportunity is not going to be a “Yes” from a recruiter, hiring manager, and or a decision maker. However, we can control our behavior and attitude during these interactions.

People should always come to job interviews and meetings prepared. Researching the firm, the people, and the culture goes a long way. Also, finding commonality and making personal connections can lead to opportunities.

Even a rejection today might be a “Yes” tomorrow. In job interviews or initial consultation meetings, one doesn't know who they will meet and connect with. Sometimes, these connections move to other places, and then one day, they contact you and want you in their workplace.

It’s all about planting seeds, doing homework, and connecting during critical conversations. Even if things don't work out, there is still a relationship that can be worth more than the original opportunity.
